What is War Profiteering and how it happens
Every war has its cost and must be sustained in some way
The reasons for an outbreak of war are in most cases :
A) Economical
B) Politicians
C) Territorial conquests
D) Supremacy of one nation over another
E) A.
All wars are led by option A. Example oil, natural gas, precious stones, salt and other resources present in large quantities or unlimited resources.
Then there are also the other options such as political motives (driven by economic ones), territorial conquests guided by political and consequently economic motives, by the supremacy of one nation over another in order to have certain resources which obviously go to feed (always and anyway) point A.
All a matter of business.
Before the outbreak of a war, there is a moment of reflection where one draws conclusions. Hypotheses begin to be thrown on the table, accompanying them with the effective means available, creating a simple budget. You start calculating the fall time of the rival nation.
Only that during the “evaluation” the opponent is underestimated.
In the various predictions of victory and conquest, a budget is calculated. The aforementioned budget must be updated from week to week and revised from day to day.
Generally the budget is also calculated on the basis of the purpose of military operations: aggression or aid.
If it is aggression, a form of return or income is sought on occupied soil, if it is a question of an aid mission in foreign territory (see US interventions in the Caribbean islands in the 1960s-75s) there is a tendency towards bilateral relations in favor of both sides , for a long-term profit.
Such as, for example, an advantageous price on a raw material or facilitating the movement of people (tourism — also through the reduction of the tax on flight tickets) of monetary capital (overhaul of banking systems) and the removal of economic barriers (such as duties on imports and exports ).
The appropriation of these resources takes place through economic companies (such as crude oil extractors, which start through already conquered and “secured” territories) or private military companies (mercenaries).
The whole set of operations are normally linked by business and political reasons.
This is my first article dealing with warfare.
