Moissanite the new substitute for natural diamond | Quality? It is conflict Free

It is a very similar stone to diamond with similar qualities

Moissanite.

A unique stone to say the least … very similar to a diamond. In many respects. The hardness 9.5 vs 10 of natural diamond … for example.

An inexperienced person would confuse it with a real diamond. Also for the brilliance …

REMEMBER …

“ ALL THAT GLITTER IS NOT GOLD “

Moissanite is 10 times cheaper than diamond.

For example, Western Diamonds Export sees a 5mm — 0.5 carats — VVS1 stone at £ 16.99. So around £ 30 per carat. VERY COMPETITIVE PRICE compared to European markets.

The other aspect that affects the value of the stone is the color. White or tending to an “x” color. For example, colored moissanite, in some cases, is worth more than transparent white (on a “D” color scale).

Today, in 2021, moissanite has no comparable market value to diamond, but for example, in 2014 a 1.00 Carat moissanite was priced around $ 4–9. Today it would be worth $ 300 obviously the price depends on many factors …

Last but not least, is the “laboratory” factor, through machinery under pressure (I will do a separate article on this). The stone is conflict free, as well as being accessible from all budgets.
